POEMS AND QUOTES

Langston Hughes:

Hold fast to dreams,

For if dreams die

Life is a broken-winged bird

That cannot fly.

By Marianne Williamson as spoken by Nelson Mandela at his inaugural address:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is

that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness,

that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant,

gorgeous, talented and fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God. You playing small doesn't serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't

feel secure around you.  You were born to manifest the glory of God

that is in us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as

we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people

permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our

presence automatically liberates others.

Jim Morrison

I am troubled

Immeasurably

By your eyes

I am struck

By the feather

of your soft

Reply

The sound of glass

Speaks quick

Disdain

And conceals

What your eyes fight

to explain.

Jim Morrison (again):

The Opening of the Trunk:

Moment of inner freedom

When the mind is opened and the

infinite universe revealed and the

Soul is left to wander

Dazed and Confused searching

here and there for teachers and friends.

Audrey Hepburn:

Beauty Secrets-

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge you never walk alone.

We leave you a tradition of the future. The tender loving care of

human beings will never become obsolete.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived,

reclaimed, redeemed and redeemed and redeemed. Never throw

anyone away.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end

of your arm.

As you grow older, you'll discover that you have two hands. One for

helping yourself, the other for helping others.

You have great days still ahead of you. May there be many of them.
